To interim President Mansour and government ministers:
As citizens concerned about our hard-won freedoms we call on you to revoke the new protest law so that Egyptians can maintain freedom of expression and freedom of assembly. We believe the government has the right and obligation to protect its citizens, but this law threatens to criminalize the legitimate and free actions of the Egyptian people.

Ladies and gentlemen, we all know that human rights is a huge problem throughout the entire world. Egypt is no exception. There are really good Christian people and good Catholics and good Muslim people who are suffering in Egypt because of these new laws that are being passed prohibiting peaceful assembly.
It's all about what we want to give to our children. If you give or if we give to our children a world that is so full of control that they no longer have the incentive or even the inspiration for creativity and improvement. Then we are giving our children a broken world. If we allow the right-wing extremists regardless of who they are or where they are living to destroy the individuality that is in each of us. They'd then destroy our collective ability to create and to improve this world and to make it better than when we were born into the world.
And above all our children did not deserve to have that kind of a broken world. Based upon draconian laws that prohibit self-expression, or that prohibit the individual's right to gather with other individuals and to peacefully assemble to voice their feelings and their thoughts pursuant to the manner in which they are being governed.
It's not about people outside of a nation telling the people in that nation. How they should live. It is about defending the right of anyone regardless who they are or where they are to have the right of free expression so that they can voice their concerns pursuant to their own freedoms and their own desires and not to be killed or abused for doing so.
As I've always said, there is no one in this entire world. No one in my entire life who I have ever hated. Because I don't hate anyone. The only thing I don't like is the behavior that people choose to exhibit and to portray and to support. Because the greed and selfishness and the rush for power is destroying this world. One only has to look at the history. To see exactly how this kind of ugly mentality has ended up. Cultures have been repeatedly destroyed from this kind of ugly draconian kind of control in governing, and in government.
I urge you in all sincerity to please join me in solidarity and support and sign this petition.
